Word of the day

Please don’t lower the Hoop.

The official height of a basketball hoop is 10ft. A score on a 6ft hoop wouldn’t count in an NBA competition no matter the cheer and fun fare.

In God’s Kingdom, there is God’s Standard and human standard. When we proclaim Him as King and Lord of our lives, We are expected to measure ourselves against His Standard, We are to make His Standard our Standard. Its amazing that in these last days, the “Spiritual Hoop” has been lowered from 10 ft in order to score. Its makes us feel good, well accomplished and successful as believers because we scored on a 5ft spiritual hoop. Let’s remember that the 5ft hoop score does not count, only a 10ft hoop score does. We may get pats on out backs, trophies on our shelves, cheers from the crowds, high sales on our Books and Cds but if we lowered our hoops, its not counting before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
